The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is a Swedish government agency under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, with a very wide range of activities relating to social services, health and medical services, patient safety and epidemiology. Among its duties the organization:

• - Collects, compiles and analyses information
• - Develops standards based on legislation and the information collected
• - Maintains health data registers and official statistics

The organization has recently launched a new and improved website – https://www.socialstyrelsen.se – and is now ready for evolving its digital offering further in the areas of e-services and open data. 

Lapidus Interactive has teamed up with Digitalist Group to introduce a new set of tools and workflows at Socialstyrelsen.

With experience from similar projects in multiple regions, we know that it is not trivial to build a robust base for communicating data, whether it's through exploratory or explanatory experiences. Our initial efforts focus on:

• - Strenthening APIs and Data formats
• - Building a stronger Design system
• - Working with the IT department to investigate how to launch and test new interactive applications

We look forward to working with the teams at Socialstyrelsen and Digitalist in rolling out a range of data-driven services.
